This system includes a diameter measuring wheel, sensors, display and accessories. Hall switches and incremental optical encoders calculate the diameter relationship between the measuring wheel and measured object, allowing support roller and tyre diameter measurement.

The system measures the distance travelled by a measuring wheel on a roller or tyre. A Hall switch identifies one complete revolution and a laser circuit records its distance. A conversion formula calculates diameter. Five equally spaced measurements combined with wear data improve measurement precision.
